Via Malung, Torsby and Sunne, where the museum or residence of the well-known writer Selma Lagerlöf is located, we drive through a classic, Swedish landscape, which consists mainly of many forests and lakes. It goes as far as Karlstad (235 km), the largest lake in Sweden, the Vänern. Karlstad is crossed by two broad branches of the river and lies directly at the mouth of the Klarälven in the Vänern. Today the Dalarna region is waiting for us, where the red Dalar horses have been produced by hand for generations. Our destination for the day is Mora (290 km), which lies at the northern tip of beautiful Lake Siljan. The city forms the tourist center of the area and offers some attractions. After our arrival in Stockholm we should pick up the rental car at the airport. Then we head straight north to the university town of Uppsala. The first university was founded here in 1477 and so many famous academics come from this city, such as Anders Celsius. The University Library is Sweden’s largest library for browsing. Heute geht es weiter nach Stockholm (200 km). In Stockholm ist sicherlich für Jede und Jeden etwas dabei. Wir unternehmen auf jeden Fall einen Rundgang durch die Altstadt Gamla Stan und besuchen dabei die Deutsche Kirche, das Ritterhaus, das als schönster Barockbau Stockholms gilt, den Dom und das Königliche Schloss. In den verwinkelten Gassen ist es zahlreiche Cafés und Restaurants die zum Ausruhen einladen. Wir haben Zeit um auch das Konzerthaus, in dem jährlich die Nobelpreise verliehen werden, das Nationalmuseum im neorenaissancistischen Stil und das Vasa-Museum mit dem historischen Kriegsschiff Vasa zu besichtigen.
Ein Ausflug mit dem Dampfschiff zum Weltkulturerbe-Schloss Drottningholm wird empfohlen. Nach einer Stunde Fahrt durch die Arme des Mälaren erreicht man den Wohnsitz der Königsfamilie. weiterlesen Stockholm
Ziel ist der über 700 Jahre alte Ort Örebro (130 km), der an der Südwestspitze des Hjälmaren Sees liegt. Zu besichtigen gäbe es hier das malerisch auf einer Flussinsel gelegene Schloss. Außerdem lockt das Freilichtmuseum Wadköpng mit zahlreichen, alten Holzhäusern, die größtenteils im 15. bzw. 16 Jahrhundert erbaut wurden und aus der gesamten Stadt stammen.
